Pour le Japon

Notre groupe de patchwork se joint à l'effort pour le Japon, et nous avons décidé de faire un envoi groupé. Alors, aujourd'hui je me suis mise à faire mon petit carré-dans-un-carré, la première fois que je fais ce modèle. Mais je dois avouer qu'avec les instructions de Bonnie Hunter et son tableau pour la découpe des tissus, j'ai réussi du premier coup: toutes les dimensions "collent" parfaitement. Et en plus, mon petit Featherweight a revu du service! Comme ma grande Sapphire est tout réglée pour faire du quilting, et comme j'ai une super table, j'ai juste baissé la Sapphire, inséré le cache en bois, et installé ma Featherweight par-dessus!

Our quilt group is participating in a project for Japan, et we decided to send all of our blocks at one time. So today I settled in to make my little square-in-a-square, the first time I've ever made this block. I must admit that, with Bonnie Hunter's instructions and her table for cutting the fabric, I got it right the first time: all of the dimensions come out just right. On top of that, my little Featherweight participated in the effort! Since my big Sapphire is all set up for machine quilting, and since I have a wonderful sewing table, I simply lowered the Sapphire, put the wooden insert in place, and set up my Featherweight on top!
