L'interminable enfin terminé

Fin 2017, j'ai commencé un nouveau quilt qui a demandé pas mal de temps à assembler. Tellement de temps, en fait, que je n'ai commencé à le quilter qu'en mars 2018! Et là, malheureusement pour moi, j'ai eu un souci de santé qui m'a empêchée de continuer le travail. Je m'y suis remise plus d'un an plus tard et, entre déplacements et d'autres occupations, je l'ai fini fin août. C'est un modèle de Rebecca Bryan, trouvé dans son livre Modern Rainbow. Le tout est assemblé en bandes diagonales, avec le choix des couleurs et de la taille de chaque bande laissé à chacune. C'était assez amusant à construire!

In November 2017, I started a new quilt that was fairly time-intensive for the piecing. So much so, in fact, that I only began quilting it in March of the following year! Unfortunately, I had a health issue that kept me from continuing, and I was only able to get back to it over a year later, finishing it at the end of last August. The pattern is by Rebecca Bryan, in her book Modern Rainbow. It's assembled in diagonal strips, and size and color placement were up to the quilter. It was fun to assemble! 

 Je me suis amusée avec le quilting machine, remplissant tout le fond avec des motifs variés. C'est trop quilté au goût de certains, et j'avoue que je ne recommencerai peut-être pas à faire un travail aussi intense! 

And then I had more fun with the free-motion quilting, filling all of the negative space with varied motifs. Some find it too quilted, and I must admit that I might not quilt another quilt so much!
